How it works
With iBill Subscription, you simply direct customers from your web site to iBill's secure web page, where they:
- input their credit card info (this is called the "Hello" Page)
- submit the yransaction
- await verification
- receive a "redemption code" via a Webgood Page
- return seamlessly to your site
- present the redemption code as a proof of purchase
- retrieve the content or service they purchased.
iBill will issue an automated withdrawal request for iBill's transaction fees against your designated bank account, on or about the 15th day of the month. iBill uses ACH (Automated Clearinghouse) technology.
Billing Options
iBill offers two billing options.
One-Time Billing ideal if what you sell rarely changes, and your business attracts customers rather than subscribers It also works well if you are selling one-time subscription options, such as 1-month, 3-month, or 6-month access options.
Recurring Billing (or Rebilling)-ideal if what you sell is the same price each month and you want to automatically rebill your subscribers.
Proof of Purchase
iBill offers several "proof of purchase" options that range in simplicity, security and manageability. These proof options can be used for services and intangible products such as downloads and advertisements.
Hardcoding
iBill Hardcoding is the least complicated proof of purchase for web purchases. Hardcoding is appropriate for those types of sales that present the product directly on the approval page for the transaction. For example, those clients who are selling picks of the day or downloads would be the prime candidates for hardcoding. Since what they are selling is a one-time option, in which they don't need access but produce the product right at the time of sale.
Access Control
iBill Access Control is a highly secure payment verification method that can only be used by sites offering a single, monthly membership with a recurring credit card payment option. This is a great solution for small start-up sites to get up and running easily.
With iBill Access control, you arrange your site so that subscribers link seamlessly to iBill's site at the beginning of each visit, for the purpose of obtaining the current username and password needed to access your site's members-only area. They supply iBill with their "Subscription ID Number". If verified as "valid", iBill then presents your Webgood Page, offering the current username and password. When the subscriber arrives back at your site and attempts to enter the restricted area, they are prompted for the username and password. For the greatest level of access security, you are encouraged to change the username and password often. During this process, if the customer's Subscription ID Number has expired (due to rebill cancellation or decline), the customer is invited to re-subscribe to your service.
iBill Access Control is more secure than Hardcoding because it requires each visitor to enter a valid Subscription ID Number prior to receiving the current username and password pair needed to enter your restricted area. You no longer have to keep username and password pairs valid for long durations. You can change your single username and password pair as often as you wish, up to once a day.
PIN Coding
Following payment verification, iBill creates a unique username and password (selected by the customer at the time of purchase), which customers use to gain access to restricted pages of a client website. PIN Coding allows more secure proof of purchase than the generic username and password pairs used in the Hardcoding method.
PIN Coding requires the use of CGI scripting for an automated system and can be used successfully with either One-Time or Recurring Billing.
Listed (or pre-created) User Names and Passwords: In this model iBill assigns each customer with a unique, pre-created, numeric userID and password pair that will provide access into your site's restricted area.
We provide a duplicate list of available Listed Usernames and Passwords when your account is set up. You can use these to pre-create corresponding user accounts on your web server. After a visitor receives the userID and password pair on iBill's Webgood page, they'll be able to log onto your site.
Service fee
iBill's fee is $1.00 per transaction. This is collected by ACH on the 15th of every month for the previous month.
