Legal Disclosure
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may disclose personal
information when required by law, court order, warrant or subpoena or under the
good-faith belief that such action is necessary under applicable law. We may
disclose personal information in order to establish or exercise our legal
rights or defend against legal claims. We also share information in order to
investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected
fraud, to protect our property or interests or that of our agents and
employees, and to protect personal safety or the public.
Security
This website takes every reasonable precaution to protect our users'
information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, their
information is protected both online and off-line.
When our registration form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as
banc account number), that information is encrypted and is protected with
encryption software, currently SSL encryption. While on a secure page, such as
our member pages, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape
Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to
un-locked, or open, when users are just 'surfing'. While we use SSL encryption
to protect sensitive information online, we also protect user-information
off-line. Access to all users' information, not just the sensitive information
mentioned above, is restricted to our offices. Only employees who need the
information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a
customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable
information. Employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy
practices. The servers that store personally identifiable information are in a
secure environment, behind a locked cage at a professional hosting company.
Although we endeavor to create secure and reliable Sites and to safeguard
against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure you that
personally identifiable information that we collect will never be disclosed in
a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy. You hereby acknowledge
that iBill is not responsible for any intercepted information sent via the
Internet, and you hereby release us from any and all claims arising out of or
related to the use of intercepted information in any unauthorized manner.
Sharing Information
In an effort to expand our client base, iBill may disclose summary information,
obtained by combining information from many clients, but with the name and
other individual identifiers removed. Typically, aggregate reports disclose
usage, demographic and traffic patterns to business partners.
We do not share information about individual users for marketing purposes with
any third party, unless requested expressly by the client or as described in
the Use of Information section. iBill may offer its services through strategic
relationships with other sites where such an offering makes sense for iBill,
its clients, and its partners.
The iBill Center may be included in conjunction with, or integrated with, other
online businesses and web sites. In these cases, individual client information
may be shared with strategic partners to: support the iBill service offering,
assist in satisfying client inquiries, or fulfill client requests for service.
iBill opposes the emailing of any junk mail, and does not sell client
information to email lists or telemarketers. If any of our related sites engage
in such practices, for any reason, iBill will immediately investigate, and if
appropriate, discontinue services with such parties. If you receive junk email
that mentions iBill services, please send details to us at support@iBill.net
and we will investigate promptly.
Notice of Changes
If iBill changes this privacy policy, updates will be posted to the privacy
statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate. Information will
be used in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was
collected.
If users' personally identifiable information will be used in a manner
different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify users via
email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not their information will be
used in this new manner. If users have opted out of all communication with the
site, or deleted/deactivated their account, they will not be contacted, nor
will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if any
material changes are made to the privacy practices that do not affect user
information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on
our Web site notifying users of the change. In some cases when a notice is
posted, we will also email users who have opted to receive communications from
iBill.
